Call me Jim.

Actually, I encourage Mandarin speakers or anyone daring enough to call me Xin.

I was a long time resident of Philadelphia – a city of terrible awesomeness and one that I deeply love. Alas, I have left her for another fine metropolis down south.

Philly is where I first realized an interest in information security. As a 6th grader, I was given de facto sys admin responsibility over the (optimistically named) Instructional Media Center at one of our finest public educational institutions. Despite the lack of funding and antiquated equipment, I learned some very valuable lessons.

This was followed up by a very expensive stint in B-school, a highly visible IT support position and finally four packed years doing mergers & acquisitions for a Fortune 500.

I am eager to see what the next few years will bring. At the least, an MBA. And maybe, if I work awfully hard and the stars align just so, I will get something else that I’ve wanted for a long time.

Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.
